New Synod, new partnership.

First ETS Training for the Horombe Lutheran Church Synod (SPH)

In response to the request of the Rev Zafimanjary José Thierry, the pastor in charge of the Satrokala Parish, an ETS took place on February 27-28, 2014 at the Lutheran College Ranohira District, SPH. In this South region of Madagascar, most of the population still follows the ancestral customs, serve and believe in idols. Thus, evangelism is one of the essential needs because and must be the first priority of the Church. A total of 31 participants from 15 congregations within 6 parishes attended this workshop. Five pastors in charge of five parishes attended the event. They did take part in the teaching, the opening and the closing devotion. Two (02) pastors couldn’t attend the ETS Workshop but they were represented by their wives. Nine (09) of the participants were active catechists; the others were church committee members, shepherds or group leaders. As usual, the closing of the training was ended with a certificate award ceremony.
